Discovering your ancestry is a fascinating and enjoyable hobby and pastime, but there are many people who lack the time or knowledge, or may be living abroad or too far from the records to do the research themselves. We are particularly knowledgeable of the social history of Great Britain and know where genealogical records are kept and how to use them to the best advantage to trace your ancestors and produce your family tree.

There are many different classes of records that can be consulted to assist with the search for your ancestors and may add interesting detail to your family history. There is usually some element of truth in the folklore passed down through your family, and we will endeavour to establish the truthfulness of this information during the research.

There is no quick and easy way to produce your family tree. Although there are many sources available on the Internet, most of these sources are the result of many years of research by other genealogists and family historians and relate to their family trees. It requires very careful research in the relevant class records to establish the true facts about your ancestors. This research usually requires from four to six months to reach completion.

We will devote resources in tracing back your ancestry on whichever line is of most interest to you. For instance, you may wish for us to concentrate on your father's or mother's ancestry, or you may wish for us to find all your eight great grandparents, or sixteen great great grandparents.

We can trace your ancestors as far back as the records exist. Typically, the earliest parish records are those of the Church of England and resulted from an order by Thomas Cromwell in 1538 that each parish should record every baptism, marriage and burial. How far back we can trace your family tree will much depend upon the survival of records, the distinctiveness of your ancestor's name and the extent to which your ancestors moved about the country, and of course the cost. Generally, we endeavour to trace back your ancestors for several generations, but we cannot guarantee to do so.
